Ok, so I noticed that it has been a REALLY long time since I last posted to this journal. Can't believe I let things get away from me like that.
Where to begin with the catching up....
Well, I am out to two people here in KY. Both friends that I work with. The whole "coming out" thing went very well with the two of them and they continue to treat me as if nothing has changed. (Which, really, it hasn't. They are just more aware of things now then they were before.). Still haven't come out to my family, and I'm really not sure that I want to. Too many uncertainties there.
For those who don't follow me on Facebook, I did go on a short vacation recently. I had two weeks off of work, and during that time, I flew to Washington DC for a couple of days. Let me say that I absolutely LOVED DC. Drivers are crazy and some places are really expensive, but overall, I loved every minute of it. Spent two full days sightseeing and I managed to see a lot of the things I wanted to see. Defintely could have used an extra day to get in everything that I missed (there is a LOT to see up there.) Also had a pretty damn good bowl of chili too. *grin*
Loved Series 5 of Doctor Who. Although David Tennant remains my favorite Doctor, Matt Smith has defintely made the role his own. In case there are those who have yet to see it, I'll refer to spoilers behind a cut.
The new TARDIS console room is pretty cool, although now that we see actual stairs that go into other places, I want to see them! Apparently, we will get the chance with the third installment of "Doctor Who: The Adventure Games", which I will check out, but it is just not the same thing. Amy Pond is an interesting character, but I am really curious to see how things change with her now that her history has been corrected and the whole "Crack" storyline has been resolved. Interestingly enough, I liked Rory as a companion far more then I did Amy. I love the prospect of the married couple travelling in the TARDIS, but I have a sinking feeling that Rory won't be around forever. Still looking forward to The Christmas Special and Series 6. Still have to find out who can control the TARDIS and apparently we will be seeing River Song's first meeting with the Doctor..
Looking forward to Sarah Jane starting back up soon. I really want to see Sarah Jane and the gang when they meet up with Eleven. Not to mention their reactions to the redecorated TARDIS. Apparently, Amy and Rory are not going to appear, so I hope they at least attempt to explain it. Rumor has it that there will be at least one off-planet adventure this year, so I am guessing the TARDIS will be involved. Also we get the random return of Third Doctor companion Jo Grant. It's so random to see Jo again, so I am curious how that will be pulled off. Also there is additional word that we will be losing another cast member this series. I have a hard time seeing Rani and family moving, so that leaves the two boys, which will be sad, as I really like Luke and Clyde.

Despite my disgust with RTD and the death of Ianto, I do have a curiousity about Torchwood: The New World. Apparently some time has passed since COE and the season will involve a CIA agent who will be investigating the "legend of Torchwood". Yes, apparently Torchwood has become forgotten in the time that has passed since COE. Gwen, Rhys and the baby will be back, as well as Jack, who will be dealing with all the bad stuff that has been happening to him. Not a lot of details out there as filming doesn't start until January. But the show will air on Starz in the US and BBC One in the UK next summer.
School is back in session. Books still far too expensive and parking is ridiculous. If all goes according to plan though, This will be my last year at NKU. As it stands now, I am set to graduate in May of 2011. And I get the impression, if this week is any indication, that will be a long, busy, hard-working road. It will be worth it when it is done though.
OK, have to get to class. I will do my best to keep up with this journal more and not let so much time pass between posts.
