OK, so I am back in the Student Union again, eating lunch that is nowhere near good for me and I'm sure I'll feel guilty about eating later. Mostly just taking some time to breathe in what has been so far, a busy day.
Interesting news for "Doctor Who/Torchwood/SJA" fans. We have a premiere date for Series Three of "The Sarah Jane Adventures". The series premieres on Thursday, October 15th. Even better is that we will be getting two new episodes each week. Part 1 of the current story airs on Thursday, with Part 2 airing on Friday. I am truly excited about the appearance of a certain special guest star in eps 5 and 6.
( Spoilers behind the cut )
In real life news, apparently the company I work for seems to think I am worth recognizing. To explain, we just got a new director and she has decided she wants to recognize certain individuals throughout our department. When she went to the management team, I was one name that they all universally agreed on, since I am constantly jumping back and forth between tasks for other groups to help them accomplish their goals, before I can actually sit down and do my own work. So, as a reward, I will be attending this Sunday's Red's game. Even better, I will be watching the game from the company's luxury box. No idea what all is involved with that, but the word "luxury" makes it sound appealling at least.
I did go ahead and sign up for NaNoWriMo this year. Honestly, I don't know how good of an idea this is, seeing as I haven't the slightest idea what things are going to be like for me come November, but it's something that I really want to do. So I can at least look forward to working in writing time to my schedule in the forseeable future.
Something I have noticed since being back at NKU, that I wanted to get opinions on...People really aren't all that receptive to new people. I mean, I'm sitting here in the student union, typing on my laptop, and I notice all these people sitting by themselves. Now I am sure that, for some people, this is intentional. Everyone needs time to themselves, right? But I also know, from experience, that eating alone, especially if it is something that happens a lot, can really suck. So I got to wondering. Why don't these people who are all sitting alone just sit together? Why not say hi to the stranger and offer some company? Maybe even make a new friend? I've tried it, with no success, but at least I tried. I've noticed several people go out of their way to find an empty seat in a crowded food court, only to sit by themselves, instead of just asking if they can sit with a stranger. It kind of boggles me.
Something I have also decided...they need to either limit access by other students to campus e-mail addresses, or they need some kind of filter on it. It must be Rush week on campus, because I have been getting so many spam messages about joining a fraternity. Honestly, I don't have time for a frat. Not that I don't think being in a frat would have its benefits, but I literally don't have the time for it. I mean, I have to schedule SLEEP for pete's sake. One message would be OK. But daily (and sometimes multiple times daily) is overkill.
OK. Off to class. Later!!!
