Howdy all,
Been a while since I posted anything of any kind. If I remember correctly, the last thing that I posted about on LJ was Torchwood audio plays before "Children of Earth" came out. So I figured a life update was in order.
First off, as you can see from the title, I am on Dreamwidth. I actually have had a Dreamwidth account for a while, but never got the time to actually do much with it. Now that I have gotten to this point on the to-do list, I'm doing something with it. *grin* Mainly, I'll be posting from here from now on and not renew my paid LJ account when it expires.
Secondly, I am back in school for the fall. And school is officially kicking my butt. (What else is new, right?) I only have one class I absolutely love and the rest are pure boredom so far. Not a good situation when one tends to go on little sleep during the week. (Full time job and full time school leads to no time sleep.)Sucks when you need to do complex code and the most your brain can come up with is "Fire Bad, Tree Pretty".
Life on campus is definitely different. Mostly due to the massive amounts of incoming freshman this semester. Of course this would be the one semester that I decide not to take an 8am class, so parking is a complete disaster. I hate having to show up to campus massively early just so I can make use of the parking pass I paid an arm and a leg for.
As far as the "real life" stuff goes, not a whole lot has changed. After a falling out I had with a friend this summer (would prefer to not go into details with this), I threw myself into getting out there to meet new people. Some of it was beneficial (I discovered that I love going to watch the Florence Freedom play.), Some was not. While I am not giving up the fight entirely,( nor am I giving up on making things right with the friend in question.), I do know that I have to back off on the quest for geographically desirable friends a little. School work is just taking up massive amounts of time, and that really needs to be a priority. I am still looking for friendship opportunities though. I considered personal ads, but they seem kind of sketchy. (the number of people who are just looking for hookups is SCARY.). I do want to try and do NaNoWriMo this year, if I can work it out. (Maybe I can find an on-campus NaNo group?). Mostly, I just want to have some fun and not be so stress filled all the time. I would think that is not too much to ask for.
OK, so I have to get to class, so I better end here. Will do a better job of keeping in touch in the future. Those of you that have contact info, it's all still the same. I would love to hear from you guys and catch up on things. Maybe those of us still into Power Rangers can get a group together to go to Morphicon next year? It would be kinda awesome to get the Oliverettes/Oliverettos together at Morphicon, given JDF's confirmed attendance.
Later guys.
